MP Tenzin Doring in Australia attended the Tibetan-Chinese Alliance Conference, organised by Tibet Information Office, in collaboration with the Australia and New Zealand Alliance of Victims of the Chinese Communist Regime, the Chinese Alliance for Democracy, the Federation for a Democratic China, the Chinese-Tibetan Friendship Associations in Australia and New Zealand, and the Non-governmental Communication Council for the Chinese at Ann Harding Conference Centre, Canberra University.
The two day conference attended by over 50 participants from across Australia and New Zealand between 8-9 February was graced by guest speakers from Central Tibetan Administration and Chinese democracy activist leadership.

The inaugural session was graced by Mr. Tenzin Lekshay, CTA Spokesperson as chief guest, parliamentarian Tenzin Doring as Guest of Honor along with Prof. Chongyi Feng and Representative Karma Singey who also delivered key note speeches at the inaugural. Guest of Honour, Tibetan Parliamentarian Tenzin Phuntsok Doring, reviewed the Middle Way Approach as advocated by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the democratic framework of the Central Tibetan Administration. He noted that the 17th Tibetan Parliament includes representatives elected by Tibetan constituents from over 25 countries. Stressing the importance of dialogue, he stated, “We must work together not just to free Tibetans, but also to free the Chinese people from CCP rule.” Mr. Doring also stressed that Middle Way is an official Central Tibetan Administration mandated by the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. The inaugural session was moderated by Chinese Liaison Officer Ms. Dawa Sangmo from Tibet Information Office, Canberra.
On the second day of conference, Mr. Doring was amongst the panelist speaking on the topic, ‘Strengthening Alliances and Advocacy in Australia’ wherein the MP stressed on the need for unifying organisation amongst the Chinese democracy activist and forming a parallel government in democratic set up. During the question hour session, Mr. Doring responded to a fellow Chinese participant’s question, stating children must be educated on the atrocities committed by CCP government and inspire them to continue the fight for freedom and democracy as their parents initiated. The panel discussion for MP was moderated by Tenzin Lobsang Khangsar, a board member of Australia Tibet Council.
The purpose of the conference was to foster common ground and mutual understanding by advancing Tibet’s Middle Way Approach, promoting transformation toward constitutional democracy in China, discussing the current human rights situation in regions under the control of Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and to share experiences and strategies for advancing common goals.
