Unless history proves it otherwise, perhaps it was the first ever meet by a Tibetan activist to Federal MP Bob Katter or vice versa. Brisbane based Tibetan activist who is also president of Queensland Tibetan Community met with Federal MP Bob Katter outside the state parliament house on the sidelines of joint press conference by the Honorable MP and Drew Pavlau in support of the latter for inquiry into Chinese influence into the University of Queensland in the backdrop of Drew’s suspension over his activism against Chinese government. The low profile Brisbane based Tibetan activist was introduced to Federal MP by none other than Drew Pavlau, who has been ardent supporter of Tibet, Hongkong and Ugyurs cause.

During a meeting, the Tibetan activist was also able to gift him with a multilingual book on Tibet and Tibetan self-immolation published by the legislature of Central Tibetan Administration known as Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, and briefed on Tibet activism, self-immolation, current situation in Tibet and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and reciprocal access to Tibet law. The Federal member took keen interest in understanding Tibet issue with China and even engaged with Hongkong and Vietamese activist who are also present at the meet.

In another city of Australia, another Tibetan activist, who is also a former political prisoner undertook free Tibet and protect Australian democracy from China’s influence activism in Perth. The protest is marked as ‘Protesting Beijing Government” which addressed four key points against Chinese government. According to reliable news reports from Tibetan exile community, the protest will be undertaken every Friday in the city for six months till the end of 2020 if permitted. Tenpa Dhagyal has been undertaking numerous activities in the raising awareness on Tibet issue and tackling Chinese influence Australia. Tenpa refused to celebrate Tibetan New Year, instead he initiates protest and signature campaigns for free Tibet. The activist recently came in strong support of Drew Pavlau who was suspended from UQ over his activism.

Tibetans in Australia seek bipartisan support for the Reciprocal Access to Tibet law to dignify the Australian citizens of its rights and responsibilities, while holding accountable Chinese communist leaders responsible for their gross violations of human rights in China similar to Magnitsky Act for Hongkong.
